About
About Calcora
Calcora builds financial calculators that explain their results, so the numbers behind everyday money decisions are easier to understand.
Why Calcora exists
Many financial calculators return a single number and stop there. That number can be hard to trust when you cannot see how it was produced, which assumptions it depends on, or how it would change if your situation changed.
Calcora is a growing collection of calculators for people in the United States, starting with calculators for paying off debt, understanding loans, and seeing how savings can grow. Each one is designed to show the result together with the formula, the assumptions, and the effect of changing your inputs.
Calcora provides educational estimates. It does not provide financial, legal, or tax advice. The methodology explains how every calculator is built and tested.
What guides the work
- Clarity
- Results come first, in plain language, with the terms explained where they appear.
- Transparency
- Every formula and assumption is shown, so nothing about a result is hidden.
- Usefulness
- Each calculator is built around a real question, such as when a debt will be paid off.
- Privacy
- Calculators are designed to run in your browser. Your numbers are not stored.
